Bruce G. HammondBruce G. Hammond has worked with the Fiske Guides since 1986, first as managing editor of the Fiske Guide to Colleges, and more recently as co-author of the Fiske Guide to Getting into the Right College, Real College Essays that Work, What to Do When for College, and Nailing the New SAT. As an undergraduate at Yale University, he was editor-in-chief of the Insider’s Guide to the Colleges. He spent 17 years as director of college counseling at two independent schools and currently works with the High School Affiliated to Nanjing Normal University in Nanjing, China. He is also executive director of the Independent Curriculum Group, an affiliation of schools dedicated to preserving schools’ ability to design their curriculum independent of standardized tests.

He has appeared on a wide range of national broadcasts, including the NBC Today Show and the CBS Early Show, and has been quoted in most of the nation’s leading newspapers and magazines, from Newsweek and the New York Times to Teen Vogue.
